Dr. Jon Stoessl, the Centre’s Director, awarded a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair, serves as medical advisor to the BC Parkinson’s Disease Association and sits on the Scientific Advisory Board of Parkinson Society Canada. He also serves on review panels for the National Institutes of Health (USA) and on Editorial Boards of the Annals of Neurology, Movement Disorders and the Canadian Journal of Neurological Sciences.

Dr. Donald Calne, O.C., F.R.S.C. the Centre’s Director Emeritus, is Editor-In-Chief of Parkinsonism and Related Disorders. Dr. Calne received the Movement Disorders Research award from the American Academy of Neurology, the F.N.G. Starr award from the Canadian Medical Association, and was named a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.

Dr. Joseph Tsui, F.R.C.P.C is the Medical Director of the National Spasmodic Torticollis Association (Detroit), and serves on the Editorial Board of Parkinsonism and Related Disorders.

Susan Calne, C.M. R.N. served as a director of Parkinson Society Canada for eleven years. She initiated the Society’s Clinical Assistance Program and developed its educational materials. She serves on the Editorial Board of Parkinson Post.

These individuals – and their colleagues – have contributed significantly to the Centre’s international reputation for excellence.
