The board of the Pacific Parkinson’s Research Institute is deeply saddened to announce the passing of longtime board member Mr. John Norton. Throughout his 33 years on the Board, John demonstrated enduring commitment and active involvement in the work of both PPRI and PPRC.
The Pacific Parkinson’s Research Centre has been approved for redesignation as a Parkinson’s Foundation Centre of Excellence (COE), based on a review conducted in July 2024.
Each year, PPRI hosts a Scientific Review, at which PPRC’s senior researchers provide live presentations on current and past projects. The event is an opportunity to discover how recent findings are contributing to the progression of Parkinson’s research around the world, and what the research team is hoping to explore next.
The Pacific Parkinson's Research Centre is excited for launch of the Bjorn Moller Research Repository. Adults aged 19+ living with Parkinson's disease or other movement disorders, plus healthy-agers, are invited to contribute biological samples to the research repository.

April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month! Pacific Parkinson’s Research Institute, along with many others, is a proud partner of PD Avengers. We support their initiative to the United Nations with the “Red Letter Campaign”.
Dr. Silke Appel-Cresswell, who holds the Marg Meikle Professorship in Parkinson’s Research, recently published research on the potentially major benefit of diet on brain health, funded mainly by Pacific Parkinson's Research Institute.
